This is the one (and only) entry in a journal I have. It's dated August 23, 2006 shortly written after attending a Christian conference. On the journals cover is one word, "Life". That should cover just about everything! I am considering journaling again. This is a wonderful prayer and would be a good beginning for this journal.
I have interjected personal pronouns into this Bible passage.
Colossians 1: 9-14
... fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And I pray this in order that I may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that I may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to You, Father, who has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of light. For You have rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Thanks be to God for His Word.
I hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday.
God's grace produces men and women with a strong family likeness to Jesus Christ, not pampered, spoiled weaklings. It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to live the worthy and excellent life of a disciple of Jesus in the realities of life.
The above statement and bible verse are from a page in a desk calendar.
Neighbors, what do you think about the above statement from the calendar? It's not a verse from the bible and is only a person's words. How accurate or not is it in your opinion?
I've had a question simmering in the back of my mind, "Susan, what has your faith caused you to do?"
From Hebrews 11, known as the 'Hall of Faith', I see persons whose faith caused them to do something.
Let me take the Words of God in like I'm eating them.
As a Christian, in order to survive I MUST take in the Bible. For I find life there. It nourishes me like no other book. I have many books that refer to the Bible, talk about the Bible, editorialize about the Bible but I must remember they are like vitamins! They are wonderful supplements but the Bible is my food, my nourishment.
So today I will eat. And take my supplements. :-)
