The seagull sets it off for me. I'm free-spirited in my heart and this photo beacons me. The palm tree and the idea it thrives in warm weather draws me as winter rolls into Indiana. That's probably why the palm tree is one of my favorite trees. Warm weather + palm tree = happy Susan.

This family (wife/mother not pictured) drove down from Northern Indiana to Brown County. They had put the trip off a week and was surprised the leaves hadn't reached their peak yet. His daughter, in the photo above, also enjoys painting. They have another daughter who doesn't find painting interesting so she skipped the trip in favor of astro-bowl the night before.
